Procedure using a mobile device to complete the Symbio 700 firmware update:
Install the USB mass storage device into the USB Host connector (J2) in the top left corner of the Symbio 700 unit controller.
1. Power up the Symbio 700 unit controller.
2. Connect to Symbio 700 UC using the Phone App.
3. Navigate to the “Tools” menu of the mobile app.
4. Select “Update Firmware”.
Navigate to the appropriate firmware file that is located on the USB flash drive and select it.
Note: The Symbio should find it for you on the flash drive.
Click Update Firmware to initiate the process, and UPDATE in the Confirm Firmware Update dialog box.
NOTE:
The Firmware Update process may take 3-5 minutes once initiated. You will be disconnected from the controller, and part way into the process the LEDs will go out on the Symbio Board, this is normal.
Watch the Symbio 700 On-Board display, it will display the following text. Validating FW, Decrypting FW, Boot Rec, Recovery, Validating FW, Decrypting FW, Updating BLE, Updating FW, Updating Kernel, Updating DT, Updating Boot1dr, Updating Recovery, then Update Success.
Then the Symbio 700 Reboot will display Load Field then Boot Field...and you're done.
After the firmware update has been completed, power down the system and remove your USB Flash Drive. You should see this when you connect back up with the Phone App.
Note: You will see the version that the unit controller was updated to.
Note: Highly recommended to update the firmware using the Symbio phone app.
