Issue:
External Auto or Equipment Stop versus Emergency Stop (IntelliPak 20-162)
Resolution:
External Stop and Emergency Stop inputs both will cause the unit to stop immediately. However, External Stop is Auto Reset and Emergency Stop is Manual Reset (requires reset at the Human Interface).
This state can be entered only by opening the External Auto or Equipment binary input referring to the units wiring diagrams. Equipment or External Auto/Stop will return the unit to the current operating mode when the input is closed. In other words, this diagnostic will automatically reset when External Auto/Stop is re-closed.
Legacy IntelliPak 1 and 2, Emergency Stop (1TB4-15,16) and External Auto Stop (1TB4-17,18)
Symbio IntelliPak 1 and 2, Emergency Stop (1XD24-2,6) and Equipment Stop (1XD24-1,6)
Symbio IntelliPak 3, Emergency Stop (1XD10-1,2) and Equipment Stop (1XD11-1,2)
Typical Applications:
This feature is commonly used with a fire alarm management system that will immediately shut down unit operation upon an emergency. With this application, the unit will automatically reset after the fire alarm management system has been reset. Another application would be for a generic automation system or time clock to open this input and shut the unit down at a predetermined time.
If the unit has a VOM module, any VOM mode has priority over External Stop. However, VOM modes do not have priority over Emergency Stop.
