The purpose of this article is to show how to wire a smoke detector or safety device on a DOE 2023-2024 model unit for emergency stop.
1. Locate the safety device termination location
Locate the red jumper on the lower corner of the board. The jumper will be on the CN7-CN28 terminals.
2. Connecting to the terminals
Remove the jumper and install the device with a NC dry contact here. The CN7 has 12 vdc going out through the NC contacts and returns on the CN28 terminal.
DO NOT apply outside voltage to these terminals. Appling voltage will cause board failure.
3. Connecting a RA and SUP smoke detector or other safety devices
Remove the red jumper between CN7-CN28. Install the first safety device to CN7 and CN31 with a NC dry contact. Then connect the second safety device to the CN 28-CN30 terminals with a NC dry contact. The CN7 terminal 12 VDC out to go through the safety devices NC dry contacts in series and return to the CN28 terminal.
DO NOT apply outside voltage to these terminals. Appling voltage will cause board failure.
If either wire pairing has an alarm and the NC dry contacts open the unit will stop operation immediately.
