Issue:
Can a VariTrac III CCP communicate to a Voyager/Precedent (non-isolated Comm4) and use an installed optional relay board simultaneously?
Resolution:
VariTrac III CCP Changeover Bypass (CB)
Yes. A CCPIII CB can communicate to a Voyager/Precedent (non-isolated Comm4) and use an installed optional relay board. They work in tandem with each other, so if the Varitrac has its Voyager fan configured for continuous run during occupancy, G on the relay board also gets energized during occupancy. The spare binary output can also be used for the applications as described in the CCPIII literature. See CCP III Optional Relay Board Wiring for more info
Â
VariTrac III CCP Delivered VAV
No. A CCPIII Delivered VAV completely ignores the optional relay board and does no control with it. This was by design to prevent attempts to thwart the Voyager III requirement.
Other Question/Problem/Cause Statements:
- Can a VariTrac III CCP communicate to a Voyager/Precedent (non-isolated Comm4) and use an installed optional relay board simultaneously?
- Using VariTrac III CCP, wants to engage an exhaust fan, based on occupancy, without a Tracker, using the optional relay board.
- Can I control separate heater with CCP and Voyager?
- Does the relay kit remain active if a communicating RTU is present?
