Issue:
How to direct connect to a Tracker EMTK?
Resolution:
Tracker EMTK does not use Tracker V12 software.
A user connects to a Tracker EMTK using a standard Trane serial cable and a Terminal Emulator. When user is connected to the EMTK with the Terminal Emulator, the Tracker serves up text menus that allow user to change setpoints, adjust parameters and make configuration changes.
Â
Hardware needed to connect from a PC to the EMTK RJ-12 connector are:
RJ-12 extension cable: 35914260
RJ-12 9 pin PC adapter: 35914262
USB to RS-232 adapter if there is no 9 pin serial adapter on the back of the pc- Trane supports the Rover Comm4 adapter but others may work but not support if there are complications
Â
Open the Terminal Emulator or Hyperterminal session in Windows to direct connect to an EMTK Tracker. Use PCM/UPCM cable part #3591-4260 (connect to Tracker and adapter) and 9 pin adapter part #3591-4262 (connect to PC).
