Resolution:

There have been two studies done to determine the energy savings for a Tracker system versus using programmable thermostats. The results of these studies showed a 13% savings and an 18% savings.

If a programmable thermostat was used perfectly, there really wouldn't be a savings with a Tracker. But in one study particularly, the stats were often set to hold the current setpoint causing the loss of the night setback setpoint spread. The Tracker provides security, setpoint limits, etc. to improve system efficiency.
