Issue:
How do you do VAV air flow balance on a Tracker System VAV (Delivered VAV) ?
Resolution:
There is a balance mode that can be initiated from the PC software or the CCP3Â operator display.
The balance mode is under System Setup page 4 on the operator display.
The balance mode is by the entire system, CCP group, or individual zone.
The balance mode disables air handler heating and cooling, sets the air handler outdoor air damper at the minimum position, and runs the air handler supply fan at 100%.
The balance mode drives the VAV boxes to their configured maximum air flow and disables zone reheat.
The actual air flow can then be measured by the air balancer.
The air balancer can enter the actual air flow from the CCP operator display, the VariTrac software, or Rover comm 4.
(Jim Eaton could not find where to enter the actual air flow from the CCP operator display.)
Each of these devices calculates the cooling flow correction factor that can then be downloaded to the VAV box.
The VAV box is now balanced.
