Issue:
Reliatel Comm4 Communications Troubleshooting
Resolution:
Some things to try on ReliaTel:
Check the DipSwitch settings on TCI board. ReliaTel TCI 3/4 module uses same addressing scheme as the TCI on older UCP controlled Voyager except for DipSwitch 1 (DIP 1 selected high temp input on TCI for older UCP Voyager is not present on the ReliaTel).
For CCP II, all TCI DIP switches are ON. For CCP III, all DIP switched are OFF. Also verify that daughter board is in the 'Non-Isolated Comm3 or Comm4' Position.
Check Polarity of the Comm4 link (the terminal located closest to the DipSwitch is positive).
An ECA module failure occasionally disrupts ReliaTel communications. Pull the 4-wire plug OFF at TCI module and cycle power to the Voyager.
Note:Â If available, use Rover Comm4 service tool to find a TCI on an older UCP Voyager. Rover does NOT see a TCI on a ReliaTel controlled RTU.
Check the TX and RX LEDs on a TCI 3/4. When communicating correctly, the RX flashes quickly and often; The TX falshes intermittantly, perhaps every 510 seconds.
The System LED should be on solid. If blinking, a problem exists on the Modbus communications link of the unit.
Check the Modbus TX and RX on RTRM. Both LEDs should be flickering indicating effective comm between the RTRM and other modules including the TCI.Â
(there is a chip dead center on the board with a version number) and the TCI version (this is on a chip concealed under the Daughter board).
