Issue:
Varitrac CCP III Bypass system stays in heating or cooling
Resolution:
The CCP III system heat/cool control mode is a selection (the default is auto) that determines whether the CCP arbitrates its own heat/cool changeover based on zone heat and cool callers, or whether the CCP IIIÂ is forced to either a cool mode or heat mode indefinitely. Valid control mode settings are: Auto, Heat, Cool, and Off
To check CCP III control mode from operator display, select ADVANCED, SYSTEM SETUP AND STATUS, , and SYSTEM SETUP. The CONTROL MODE should display 'auto'. If the CONTROL MODE displays 'heat' or 'cool' , the system is locked into that state and will never changeover from heat or cool no matter what zones callers are.
To check CCP III control mode from PC software, go to CCP Editor and select the tab 'Setup 1'. Look for the CONTROL MODE field and verify the mode selected is 'auto'. If selection is set to 'heat' or 'cool', or 'off', change setting to 'auto'.
Note: With no or voting zones fewer than required by the minimum opposite callers specified, The CCP III may not be able to changeover. Zones have a field entry labeled 'Allow Heat/Cool Vote:' field for each zone. If all zones are set to NO, CCP is not look at these zones as voters to determine whether changeover should take place.
Other Question/Problem/Cause Statements:
- Why does CCP III stay in heating when there are sufficient cool callers to transition to cooling?
- Why does Varitrac remain in cooling when heat callers want system to transition to heating?
- Why does Varitrac CCP III stay in heating?
- Why does Varitrac CCP III stay in cooling?
Facts:
