Issue:
Demand Ventilation with ReliaTel units and communications
Resolution:
The Precedent and Voyager products use the ReliaTel control system. This unit stand-alone can do demand ventilation if it has a CO2 sensor. The ReliaTel system has had three different economizers since it was first designed. Some of our BAS systems will actually disable demand ventilation. Since demand ventilation works by adjusting the minimum economizer position, sending it a minimum position will disable it. This was not the case with version 1 of the ECA but it works that way with ECA II and the current RTEM.
Tracker BMTK V12 SP8 does now have fields for setting the local minimum position to local. Tracker EMTK (The original Stat Panels) and VariTrac still send the minimum position, thus disabling local Demand ventilation. CCP III does support System Demand Ventilation using CO2 sensors wired to the VAV boxes and it will adjust the minimum position of the Voyager.
