Issue:
Tracker BMTK Alarming.
Resolution:
Â
Topics: Types and origin of Tracker alarms, alarm routing capabilities, number of alarms, how alarms are displayed.
Â
Â
Kinds of Alarms:
Â
1)The Tracker alarm log will receive alarms sent from any devices the Tracker communicates to. This includes a) diagnostics sent from SCC devices. These diagnostics are not generated by the Tracker, they are just displayed there. For example, diagnostics from an SCC constant volume Voyager or Precedent that communicates to Tracker through an LCI-R interface are not generated by the Tracker or the LCI-R card. They are generated by the Reliatel boards in the RTU and are simply passed through to the Tracker for display. See WAVE 5303 for list. And b) alarms and diagnostics that are passed to Tracker from any CCPs in the system. These include alarms from zone controllers (UCM 4.2) in the CCP system as well as alarms and diagnostics that are passed to the CCP from its air handler through the TCI communications interface. The CCP itself also generates alarms. See WAVE 2822 for diagnostics that will cause Priority Shutdown. The CCP documentation has a complete list of diagnostics. See WAVE1587, VAV-SVU01A-EN.
2)The Operator can create Custom alarms that will generate alarms based on properties known to the Tracker. This includes many points from SCC devices, Input points on an MP503, and properties that a CCP system passes to Tracker. Custom alarms can be routed the same as any other alarm. See WAVE 4208 and WAVE 58465.
Â
Â
Â
Number of alarms: The Tracker alarm log can contain up to 64 entries. When the number of alarms exceeds 64 older alarms are deleted to make room for newer ones.
Â
Â
Â
Display of alarms: Alarms are displayed in the Tracker workstation software (click the bell, select alarm log) and on the touch-screen operator display (the bell button).
Â
Â
Â
Alarm routing: Alarms can be routed to remote workstations as Global Alarms, sent to e-mail recipients, or to a pager. See WAVE 58465. Tracker has an LED that can be set up to turn on when alarms are present. It also has a binary output that can be energized when an alarm is present. This could, for example, be used to sound a bell. This set up from the Alarms Log Setup page in the Tracker PC software and/or at the operator display. It is by alarm class (Critical, Service Required, Informational).
Â
Alarm LED and Alarm Relay:Â From the Tracker PC Software you enter into the Setup --> Alarm Log --> Alarm Setup Tab. At the bottom of this page there is an Alarm Notification dialog box that allows the configuration of Energize Relay at: From here an end user can select from 4 possible conditions:
1 - (Low) Informational or High
2 - (Med) Service required or higher
    3 - (High) Critical Alarm
    Disable Notification
Or, from the Tracker Operator Display you select the Alarm Notification Setup -->Alarm LED and Alarm Relay Setup
In all cases there will be a security level / password required to set this information up.
