Issue:
Tracker EMTK losing time.
Resolution:
Problem:
Tracker EMTK is losing time. It has lost 60 minutes over a month and a half. Why does a Tracker lose time?
Solution:
There are five things that could cause a Tracker to lose time:
- The presence of an uninterruptable power supply.
- The close proximity of a variable frequency drive.
- Substantial power failures causing the Tracker to rely on the Dallas chip to keep time instead of using the 60 Hz frequency of the power supply.
- The power supply is not exactly 60 Hz or exactly 50 Hz. Since the Tracker uses this exact frequency to keep time, any deviation in frequency will cause a time error.
- Someone altered the time from the front panel of the Tracker.
