When field-installed smoke detectors, time clocks, or other control devices are used to shut down the HVAC unit if a problem occurs, the wiring connections should be as shown below. A dry set of normally closed contacts, can be used to break the 24 Volt AC power circuit from the RTRM. Removing the brass jumper clip between LTB terminals, 5 and 6, and applying the normally closed contacts of the shutdown device to these terminals. A unit shutdown will occur immediately when the contacts open.
