The purpose of this article is to show how to connect a Smoke Detector or other shutdown device. E-stop should not be used as an option for this model unit.
To install the smoke detector or safety device Cut JP1 on the Main Board and wire Normally Closed Contacts on CN7 and CN31. If a second smoke detector is used the CN28 and CN30 should be used and the JP2 will need to be cut.
Remove the jumper and install the device with a NC dry contact here. The CN7 has 12 vdc going out through the NC contacts and returns on the CN28 terminal.
DO NOT apply outside voltage to these terminals. Appling voltage will cause board failure.
Note: You will get a EF code on the board if either contact is opened and the unit will shut down, the unit will restart when the contact is closed again.
