It has been brought to our attention that replacement R410A variable speed compressors (VSC) no longer list R410A as the refrigerant type and ONLY list R454B. This was a minor oversight by Danfoss and have verified that VZH (088/117/170) models with a Design Sequence (Design Pressure Ratio) of "C" have been qualified for use with both R410A and R454B refrigerants.
Danfoss is planning to change the label to show both refrigerants on the nameplate in future releases to ease any confusion.
VZH Nameplate Reference.
Design Pressure Ratio (model digit 7 - "C") are rated for R410A and R454B. VZH compressors with model digit 7 (model digit 7 - "B") CANNOT be used with R454B applications.
Important Note:
Although design sequence "C" compressor are rated for R410A and R454B applications your existing VSC's VFD parameters will NOT change. The same process of changing and/or verifying parameter 4-18 (Current Limit) on the VFD when a replacement Variable Speed Compressor is ordered and/or Speed Limit / Overcurrent faults are present still exist. Parameter 4-18 setting is based on unit tonnage and voltage selection and can be found in the unit's IOM (see Compressor VFD programming parameter 4-18).
