For this article, we will be looking at a feature of the TGP2 editor called, "View Real Time.” View Real Time allows service personnel view the logic controller various inputs/outputs while the unit is in operation to determine expected control outputs.
To open the TGP2 editor, select Utilities > TGP2 Editor in Tracer TU. This selection will open a new window.
To access View Real Time, Select Programs > View Real Time from the new window.
The dialog box below will open which shows available programs loaded onto the controller. It’s helpful to understand what program is controlling an output first. This can be found in Tracer TU by double clicking text area of the point to open the Override Request window.
Note: You may find that text is difficult to read in due to overlapping data. To fix this, select Program > Exit Real Time. You should now see a Program List on the right side of the screen. If you don’t, select View and select Display Program List.
Open the program from the Program List. To move the data, left click and drag to remove overlaps. To finalize the changes, select File > Save and Program > Send to controller.
in the example below, you can see the Reheat Liquid Line Valve is False or Off because the HGRH Control Value is not greater than 1. The HGRH Control Value won’t increase above -10 because Dehumidification Mode is False.
The TGP2 editor has a search feature to help find point instances within a program. To access the search feature, press and hold Ctrl + F on your keyboard. The search feature will highlight the points in the program after a selection is made by either inputting text into the search field or by making a select using the dropdown menu.
TGP2 editor has a context sensitive help menu that can help you understand what various block mean within a program. To access this, right click on a block and select Help from the menu.
