Below is a diagram for a Precedent Gas Heat Unit with the BC Plenum Motor showing Reliatel and Electromechanical speed inputs (PPF-IDFC Pins 1 & 8).
First make the motor sure is getting all 3 Phases of power.
- Separate PPF-IDFC (unit side) and PPM-IDFC (motor side).
- Locate the following on PPM-IDFC:
1. Pin 1, wire 39B, yellow
2. Pin 7, wire 37B, red
3. Pin 8, wire 45B, blue - On the PPM-IDFC plug check pins 7 & 8 and verify the presence of 10 VDC.
4. If 10 VDC is present continue to step 4.
5. If 10 VDC is NOT present and it is getting all 3 Phases of power the motor is bad, assuming wires 37B(RD) and 45B(BL) are intact all the way to the motor. - Jump PPM-IDFC pins 1 & 7 together.
- If the motor starts and ramps to full speed the motor is good.
If the motor still doesn’t run the motor is bad, assuming wires 39B(YL) and 37B(RD) are intact all the way to the motor.
EBM Motor Internal Connections

| 2 | Line impedance to high (DC-link voltage unstable) | 9 | Calibration of rotor position sensor in progress |
| 3 | Power limiter in action | 10 | Actual speed is lower than run monitoring speed limit |
| 4 | Output stage temperature high | 11 | Open circuit at analog input |
| 5 | Motor temperature high | 13 | DC-Link voltage high |
| 6 | Temperature inside electronics high | 15 | Line voltage high |
| 7 | DC-link voltage low | 16 | Shake-loose function activated |
Failure Codes
| Number of Pulses | Motor Status - LED Red | Possible Cause | Possible Remedy |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Phase failure or line undervoltage | Missing phase or poor power supply quality | Check line voltage |
| 3 | Over-temperature of Power Module | Electronics housing contaminated | Provide better cooling. Manual Reset required. |
| 4 | Communication error between primary controller and secondary controller | External supply applied via Vout for setting parameters. Internal error | Switch off line voltage - wait - switch back on |
| 6 | Motor Overheating | Ambient temperature too high Impermissible operating point | Reduce ambient temperature. Correct operating point. Manual required. |
| 7 | Hall Sensor Error | Internal error | Switch off line voltage - wait - switch back on. |
| 8 | Rotor Locked | Mechanical Blockage | Switch off - check safe isolation from supply - check freedom of movement of rotor. |
| 9 | Speed limit exceeded | — | — |
| 11 | Rotor position sensor calibration error | Rotor position sensor calibration necessary. | Perform Module Pairing, see page 16 of RT-SVP08D-EN |
| 13 | DC-link undervoltage | Line voltage not OK | Check the line voltage applied |
