Wiring
The terminal connections between the Gen 2 and Gen 3 EBMPapst fans are not the same. The pin correlation below needs to be used when replacing a Gen 2 fan with a Gen 3 fan. The replacement Gen 3 fan will not have a wiring harness, the original harness from the Gen 2 fan will need to be reused.
When replacing a Gen 2 with a Gen 3 you will also need to reuse the wire harness from the existing fan.

- T/YSC072-120F
- T/YHC072-120F
- When replacing FAN04214 or FAN04605 with FAN07046 (208-230vac)
- When replacing FAN04215 or FAN04606 with FAN07045 (460/575 vac)

Mounting
Certain older Precedent models equipped with the Gen 2 motor feature an 8-bolt pattern. The motor mount in the frame may not correspond to the correct bolt pattern for the new motor, which utilizes a 6-bolt pattern. This is seen primarily on the early launch Precedent models with the Gen 2 motors ~2011-2012/13.
There are 2 options when dealing with this issue:
- Two of the mounting holes will line up between the 8-bolt and 6-bolt, line up these 2 holes and drill out the other 4
- Order PLT06399 which include both bolt patterns
