Solution:
All Units:
- First make sure nothing is connected to the RTRM J6 terminal block and also make sure the unit is not being controlled by a Communication Board connected to the RTRM J4.
- Is there 24 vac from Y1 to COM on the RTRM J7 terminal block?
- Yes, go to step 3.
- No, check thermostat.
- Remove thermostat wires from W1/O and or W2, if the compressor comes on check to see if there is any voltage on the wires that was connected to W1/O and or W2. If there is any voltage on these wires the Reliatel board interprets this as a Heat and Cool call at the same time and will just run the Indoor Fan.
Units with an economizer:
- Locate the J8 plug on the RTRM and remove it, if the compressor comes on within 60 seconds the unit was economizing.
Notes:
If you have a single compressor unit with an economizer and only have thermostat wire connected to Y1 and if it is okay to economize you will never get a compressor to come on.
Remedy:
If you have a 2 stage thermostat connect up the Y2
If you don’t have a 2 stage thermostat, you can put a jumper between Y1 and Y2 at the RTRM J7 terminal block. Then if it is okay to economize, after the economizer has been 100% open for 5 minutes the compressor will come on.
