REPLACING INDOOR CONTROL BOARD WITH NEW EEPROM – Trane Commercial HVAC Help Center

All Trane Branded Samsung indoor units with the exception of the Highwall units should come with new Eeproms that are replaceable with the existing ones if they are still good.
Highwall indoor board replacements come with Eeproms that are permanently attached and will have to be programmed with a wireless remote, this procedure is available it the Highwall IOM.
All other Indoor units come with Eeprom's that can be replaced or swapped out for programming or reusing the existing one if it's not failed.
This can be done through the TUT or SNET tools in the Add on Tab and select the Indoor Option Writer Option Tab, it can also be done with an UART Cable with a direct connection all F1/2 And F3/4 will need to be removed before starting with UART.
When a new Eeprom is used and the product option code is written for the indoor unit, it will not carry over the serial number of the old unit, The unit will generate a new indoor unit address and for Heat Recovery Units, it will have to be assigned to the MCU and Port as the one it replaced in address change Tab, It not unusual to generate a E-213 until this is done ,DO NOT CLOSE out TUT or SNET Until this has reassigned or it will create an E-201 .
