- The E-163 error code points to an indoor unit having the wrong product code installed.
- if this is the case the Main outdoor unit will display an A-20, with the address of the indoor unit in fault.
- This would be a starting point to connect with the TUT Or SNET Tool and see if the Indoor unit has the correct product option code
- If you see a U-200 Or U-201 This indicates the fault is at the outdoor unit, usually with a sub, which is a U-201 Or U-202.
- For next gen Equip if an indoor unit is programmed in the ID Quantities section this will result in a E-163.
- If it doesn't give the option to remove this indoor unit, press the K4 button for at least 2 seconds, this will run an auto detection for indoor units and should see this as 0.
- For first gen Equip. the rotary dials on the main control board could have an indoor quantity set to any digit except 0, this would generate the E-163.
