Precedent units may be equipped with factory mounted unit disconnect or main breaker. Both look identical, except they function differently. Many mistake a disconnect for a breaker due to the fact they are in the same case, but there are differences to look for for verification.
Unit Mounted Disconnect
Model Number Digit 19 = 1
The Unit Mounted Disconnect looks just like a breaker because it is in a breaker frame, except on the label of the disconnect actually states "Molded Case Switch" and the electrical symbol next to it also follows the standard indicating a switch or disconnect.
This is just simply a disconnect mounted inside the unit and offers no circuit protection. The rating on the handle indicates that this disconnect is capable of being installed on up to a 125 amp circuit.
Unit Mounted Circuit Breaker
Model Number Digit 19 = 2
The Unit Mounted Circuit Breaker is a breaker and will be rated accordingly for the units MOP rating. The look of the breaker is the same as a disconnect for the same reason, it is in a breaker frame. The labeling on the breaker will state that it is a Circuit Breaker and displays the electrical symbol for a breaker.
