Issue:
RTAA Demand Limit Control
Resolution:
The Current Limit function allows the user to limit the maximum capacity of the Chiller unit. The user is allowed to input a current limit setpoint for the chiller. The compressor slide valve will be modulated in order to prevent the chiller from exceeding the current limit setpoint.
This function may be controlled by a Trane Integrated Comfort System (ICS) or through a generic BAS (GBAS) interface. The option provides a 2-10vdc or 4-20mA signal output to the BAS. A typical application might be to limit the Chiller capacity during times of peak load based on a request from the local power company.
