Issue:
Noisy Compressor
Resolution:
RTUA, RTWA, RTAA: Chillers tripping on LRTC, LWTC, Noisy Compressor, HPC, etc.,..
- LRTC and LWTC can happen if the chiller does not unload properly at shutdown
- HPC can happen if the chiller loads up too soon...prior to the 2 minute run unload
- Noisy Compressor can happen at shutdown if the compressor does not run unload properly, yet the EXV (Stepper Module) has commanded the EXV to close down (part of the anticipatory control for the EXV); the compressor is starving for refrigerant.
See RTAA-SVB07A-EN for reference. This Service Bulletin addresses a compressor software bug on chillers manufactured from March, 2001 U01C***** to October, 2001 U01K*****.
If the VFDs are not working, and the chiller has the software bug; there could be HPC trips as well as LRTC.
