Issue:
When a fan motor is replaced, it is important to properly torque the bolt that secure the blade to the motor shaft. Failure to do so can cause mechanical and operational issues with the fan blades.
Resolution:
Torque values:
For ACR and RTAE fan blades is 16 ft-lbs
For CGAM is 16 ft-lbs
For RTAC is 12 ft-lbs
For ACSA and RTAF is 16 ft-lbs
Apply Loctite 242 to the bolt after installing the new motor and replacing the fan blade.
All torque values were derived from Engineering Specification ES65160953
Products Affected:
- RTAE
- ACRA
- ACRB
- RTAC
- CGAM
- ACSA
- ACXA
- RTAF
Facts:
- Over-torquing the bolt will cause the snap ring to become dislodged from the groove and result in damage to the motor/blade.
