Issue:
Can I use R407C in place of R22?
Resolution:
In CGAF chillers, it is acceptable to use R407C as a drop in replacement. However, the mineral oil shipped with CGAF chillers (Trane Oil 42) must be removed and replaced with POE oil ( Trane Oil 78). There should not be more than 5% mineral oil content in POE oil. A minimum of 2 oil changes should be performed to remove as much of the residual mineral oil as possible.
Notes:
R407C is ONLY approved for CGAF, no Pueblo products have been tested or approved for R407C.
