Compressor Motor Information
Resolution:
Pueblo rotary screw compressor motors are not standard off-the-shelf motors. They are designed and built specifically for chiller applications and as a result, do not have a standard horsepower rating. Use the following guidelines as a general rule of thumb:
- Water-cooled application - the specific output is approximately 1 horsepower per refrigeration ton for the compressor only
- Air-cooled application - the specific output is approximately 1.35 horsepower per refrigeration ton for the compressor only
It is important to remember that the motor output will be dependent on the chiller load, building load, condensing head pressures, ambient air, and how the chiller is applied.
