Issue:
Condenser Fan Motor Fuse Blowing
Resolution:
RTAC - 200 and 230 VAC Chillers:
Condenser Fan Motor Fuse(s) blowing in configuration where there are 4 condenser fan/motors connected to a 30 AMP fuse source.
Review of the Fan Motor Current for 200 and 230 VAC chillers shows the 30 AMP fuse selection is too small under certain conditions. Review of the calculations shows a 40 AMP fuse would be more appropriate in the circuit.
40 AMP Fuse and Fuse Holder Information:
- Fuse: X13111172100 ( single fuse )
- Fuse Holder: X13111171010 ( 40 AMP fuse holder accommodates 3 fuses )
Notes:
These changes affects the following:
- Fuses for Circuit 1 (1F1, 1F2, 1F3) and Circuit 2 (1F7, 1F8, and 1F9)
-
Unit Size, Efficiency Level, and Ambient configurations:
- 140T Extra Efficiency, Standard and High Ambient
- 155T High Efficiency, Standard and High Ambient
- 170T High Efficiency, Standard and High Ambient
- 185T Standard Efficiency, Standard and High Ambient
- 200T Standard Efficiency, Standard and High Ambient
Changes:
Engineering has updated the BOM to reflect this change.
Wiring schematics will not reflect these changes. Please make the required changes in existing schematics.
