Issue:
Dynaview Replacement Procedures for CGAM units.
Resolution:
Here are the basic steps to replace a damaged Dynaview controller. There are 2 possible scenarios:
* The first one is when the touch screen is either damaged, out of calibration or non responsive but you can still connect to the controller via Kestrelview.
* The second is when you don't have access to the DV by either way and you must use the model number on the unit nameplate to re-configure the unit.
Scenario #1:
- The following procedure is for Trane Technicians ONLY. Customers with Techview will need to follow Scenario #2
-
Before you remove the damaged DV (Dynaview) from the unit connect to it with KestrelView (Techview)
- Click on "View" and then go to "Configuration"
- Once in configuration at the bottom of the page click on "Save to File"
- Ensure you know where this configuration file is being saved (file path name)
-
Now the complete configuration has been saved but we strongly suggest taking pictures of each configuration tab (Unit Type, CH530, Options, and Options Setup) with your phone
- Be sure you scroll down as some of the tabs may have more information than what can be seen in the initial screen
- Go to “Unit View” and take a picture or write down the amount of starts and hours of each one of the compressors and water pump(s)
- You can now disconnect and remove the old Dynaview and install and the new one
-
Connect to the new Dynaview using TV
- Got to View...Software and load the latest CGAM MP firmware version
- Once the MP is loaded it will indicate the configuration is not valid...click "Ok".
-
This will take you to the "Configuration" screen
- At the bottom of the page click on “Open from File”
- Open the configuration file you saved from the old Dynaview
- Once you select it press “Load Configuration” at the bottom of the screen
- Once the configuration is loaded use the pictures on your phone and compare all the settings
- If any value is different, correct it to match and load the configuration again
- The chiller is now configured
- Now you must have KestrelView Access Level 4 for the next step. Contact technical support if you do not know how to change from Access Level 3 to 4
-
Go to “Unit View” and click on the “Starts and Hours” tab
- You should be able to see and edit the white fields for starts and hours
- Edit these values using the values on the picture you previously took
-
Finally go to “Reports” and then click on “Nameplate”
- A Pop-up window will appear
- Fill the model # and the Serial # from the unit nameplate
- Once you have the correct information click on the button named “Load Unit Model Descriptor”
- This will load and save the information
- If you don’t click on it the button, information will not be saved
-
Go to Binding view and validate all devices have Green Happy Faces
- If any devices are Red Sad Face, it may require binding the device
- If any devices have a White Circles with a red X, then you need to go back to configuration and install this option
- If all devices are Green Happy Faces, the new Dynaview is now configured and ready to run
- Save the "Chiller Service Report" and "Configuration Report" to Comfortsite
Scenario #2: Non responsive Dynaview
- NOTE: This process will also be used for Contractors using Techview
- Remove the old Dynaview and install the new one
- Connect to the new Dynaview using TV and load the latest CGAM MP firmware version
-
Once the MP is loaded it will indicate the configuration is not valid
- Click "Ok"...this will take you to the "Configuration" screen
-
Go to MNL (Model Number Lockup) on the internal "Trane Service Technicians" page and search for archived configuration files
- If you have access to any of these files or a Chiller Service Report follow the procedure above
- If you do not have access to a configuration file continue with the next step
-
Using the Installation, Operation and Maintenance manual (CGAM-SVX17*-EN) go to the View...Configuration tab
- Begin selecting proper values based on the model number. Reference the IOM for clarification.
- If you are unsure, leave the setting with the default value
-
Go to Binding view and validate all devices have Green Happy Faces
- If any devices are Red Sad Face, this may require binding the device
- If any devices have a White Circles with a Red X, then you need to go back to configuration and install this option
- Once all devices are Green Happy Faces, exit Binding View
-
Go to “Reports” and then click on “Nameplate”
- A pop-up window will appear
- Fill out the model # and the serial # from the unit nameplate
- Once you have the correct information, click on the button named “Load Unit Model Descriptor”
- This will load the information
- If you don’t click on it the button, the information will not be saved
- The new DV is now configured and ready to run
