Issue:
Unit Not Configured
Resolution:
CGAF Chillers:
With the last release of unit code the decision was made to remove all references to "Voltage/Phase Monitoring" menu screens. This included the configuration screen to install or not install this feature. To maintain backward compatibility(old units still need to get to these screens) it was decided to 'hide' these screens on all Brazed Plate wired units. Brazed Plate units are identified by a jumper placed on the MCM module. This jumper status is brought out on the internal communications buss and the Human Interface refers to this bit to hide the screens discussed above. The issue is that these boards come in from our vendor with the configuration information set to "Not Configured" which is typical for most configuration data. When these units power up for the first time, this data is required to be configured per the model number. This is a manual process in the field when replacing the boards. The problem is that the HI hides the configuration screen due to the BP bit being set and at that point the technician cannot get to the screen to re-configure this data to "Not Installed". The unit will call out a "Unit Not Configured" diagnostic until this data is set properly. Technicians must follow this procedure at initial unit startup and after replacing the CGM Module:
- Set the disconnect switch to OFF/Open to kill power to the unit.
- Locate the MCM module and disconnect the J2 plug.
- Set the disconnect switch to ON/Closed to apply power to the unit. (Ignore diagnostics).
- Press the Configuration Menu Screen button.
- Press the NEXT key until the Voltage/Phase Monitor Not Configured screen is shown.
- Change the entry form "Not Configured" to "Not Installed"
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Set the disconnect switch to OFF/Open to kill power to the unit.
- Locate the MCM module and reconnect the J2 plug.
- Set the disconnect switch to ON/Closed to apply power to the unit.
- The "Unit Not Configured" screen should not be displayed, if it does repeat the above procedure.
