Field installing the low ambient option
Resolution:
RTAC chiller:
- To add the low ambient option (variable speed drives, VFD's) according to the wiring diagram in the installation operation manual, it is necessary to introduce the 1U3 module to the main processor (Dynaview) using the binding process.
- First, the chiller configuration must be done using the Techview Service Tool.
- Establish a local connection to the display, access the Configuration View screen, and select the Feature Tab.
- Scroll down to CDTY (Condenser Temp Range) and choose L-Low Ambient Capability Condenser.
- Load this configuration at the bottom of the menu.
- Once the loading is complete, the display will enter the Binding View Menu.
- The 1U3, 1U15, and 1U20 modules must be bound to enable the low ambient option.
- Finally, access the Setpoint View and scroll down to the last item, Freeze Avoidance Start Inhibit.
- Disable this feature to allow the chiller to operate below 25F ambient temperature.
- If this feature is not disabled, the chiller will shut down in a Start Inhibit by Cold Condenser Temperature operating mode.
