Issue:
How does the freeze avoidance setting work?
Resolution:
- For Freeze Avoidance to be present to Enable or Disable, the chiller needs to be configured (Evaporator Pump Control) for either single or dual pump (with or w/o inverter).
- Evaporator Pump Control can be found in Configuration View within Techview or Tracer TU
- When Freeze Avoidance is enabled, the chilled water pump output will be forced on when the Ambient Temperature drops below the Leaving Water Temperature Cutout setpoint
- This cycle will continue until the Ambient Air Temperature is 3° C above the Leaving Water Temperature Cutout setpoint
- There will be a delay due to an integral time component
- Delay will be 30 seconds or less
- This cycle will continue until the Ambient Air Temperature is 3° C above the Leaving Water Temperature Cutout setpoint
Low Evaporator Leaving Water Temp: Unit OFF
- This diagnostic will be annunciated when the Leaving Water Temperature fell below the Leaving Water Temperature Cutout setpoint while the chiller is in the STOP mode or in AUTO with no compressors running
- The diagnostic will reset automatically when the temperature rises 2° F above the cutout for 30 minutes
