Issue:
Does the chiller ship with oil in it?
Resolution:
- RTHD chillers are available for order without refrigerant to facilitate disassembly and reassembly at the final installation site.
- If the chiller is ordered with a nitrogen holding charge, it will be shipped with its complete oil charge.
- It is important to note that polyester oil is hygroscopic, so it is advisable to drain all the oil and replace it with a fresh charge of oil if the unit is disassembled.
- Oil has the potential to circulate within the chiller while being transported. If the entire amount of oil is not located in the oil sump, it is recommended to inspect the condenser, evaporator, and compressor for the presence of oil.
