Question:
Can the chilled water pump(s) on a factory pump package be energized in order to bleed air from the system?
Resolution:
The chilled water pump can be energized from the Dynaview display. This feature has a maximum time of 60 minutes to be able to be ran in manual mode. The following sequence can be followed to energize the pump relays from the touchscreen:
- Select the "Settings Tab"
- Select "Manual Control Settings"
- Select "System"
- Touch on "Evap Water Pump"
- Select "On"
This feature will allow the technician to be able to bleed air from the system, set up and check water pressure drop through the evaporator. Chilled water piping should be cleaned and flushed before connecting customer piping to the chiller. Water strainer should also be checked/cleaned as necessary after running the chilled water pump prior to startup of the unit.
If the chilled water pump does not come on, verify that the chiller configuration is set up correctly.
- Connect to the chiller with Techview
- Go into "Configuration View"
- Select the "CH530" Tab
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and make sure Evaporator Pump Control is set to "Dual Pump Variable Speed"
The 1A26, Quad Relay output module should be inspected if there still is no flow.
It may be necessary to adjust the minimum speed on the TR200 to get desired water pressure drop.
