BCI-R / BCI2-R Reliatel RTU Fan Control
Summary:
BCI-R / BCI2-R Reliatel Fan Control allows users to have full over the fans in their rooftop units (RTU). It provides real-time monitoring of the fan speed command, enabling users to optimize the air flow and energy efficiency of the RTU syatem
See below for how to control various BCI-R / BCI2-R Reliatel RTU configurations
Occupied Operation
-
Variable Speed Fans (VAV / SZVAV / "Multispeed"):
- If RTAM present, BO/8 will be ignored and Duct Static will be maintained while occupied
- If no RTAM present, fan will operate as follows in occupied mode:
- ACTIVE/TRUE = "Continuous" (Fan will run at minimum speed when load is satisfied)
- INACTIVE/FALSE = "Cycling/Auto" (Fan will turn off when load is satisfied)
-
Constant Volume / Single Speed Fans:
- ACTIVE/TRUE = "Continuous" (Fan will run constantly when unit is occupied)
- INACTIVE/FALSE = "Cycling/Auto" (Fan will turn off when load is satisfied)
Unoccupied Operation
-
All Unit Types
- Fan will cycle based on load (unoccupied heat/cool setpoints will be used)
Known/Frequent Issues
- VAV Units: Verify RTAM dip switch 1,2 are on,off (you'll need to rebuild points if you have to adjust these dip switches)
- Deadband potentiometer on RTOM is not correct (not controlling to proper duct static) - should be set to 0.2 in H2O
-
Cannot manually control variable speed fan from BAS
