BCI-R /BCI2-R TD5 Settings for RTU BAS Control

- BCI-R / BCI2-R will not go into BAS control. Always remains in Standalone control.

The most likely cause is that a TD5 display is connected and the display is set to 'write mode".  It must be changed to "read-only mode" in order for the unit to be put in BAS control.

 

Configure TD5 Local Display for System Control ("Read Mode")

If a TD5 is present on the unit, by default, it will be configured to be the decision maker for control (aka it's in "Write" mode), and force the unit into "Standalone Operation". In order to enable the RTU to be controlled by the BAS, the TD5 must be in "Read Mode".

Other Question/Problem/Cause Statements:

  • BCI-R will not go into BAS control. Always remains in Standalone control.
  • BCI-R Binary Output 1 System Control Command shows BAS Control, but Binary Input 1 System Control Status always shows Stand Alone Control
  • Tracer TU cannot see the versions or shows incomplete data for the RTAM. RTOM or BCI-R controllers
