BCI-R / BCI2-R BAS Dehumidification Control and Operational Testing
Summary:
By performing these control and operational test, the functionality and efficiency of the dehumidification system cam be ensured, resulting in improved indoor air quality and occupant comfort, Additionally, identifying any issues early on allows for timely repairs and prevents major problems down the line
Under normal operating conditions for the RTU to go into Dehumidification mode, the cooling capacity must be less than 50% and Space Humidity local be greater than the Dehumidification setpoint.
For testing Dehumidification mode for a SCC (Space Comfort Controller) through BAS, it is recommended the "Space Temperature Active" be between the active Heat / Cool setpoints and the "Space Humidity Active" be greater than the "Dehumidification High Limit Setpoint".
Testing the BCI-R ReliaTel Dehumidification operation through a BAS application, requires the BAS application control and manipulate multiple points.
- The below Analog Outputs, Binary Outputs and Multistate Outputs must have the points "out of service" property reset from "true" to "false", when the point are "in service" the BAS value or command will be communicated from the BCI-R to the RTU for control.
- It may take a minute or two, for the RTU and BCI-R to respond to the below setting or adjustments
• Step #1
Verify the following points are in BAS control, as described below
BI 1 - System Control Status, BAS control
MO 7 - Occupancy Request, Occupied / in service
MO 8 - Heat Cool Mode Request BAS, Auto / in service
BO 15 - Dehumidification Enable Command, Active = Auto / in service
• Step #2
The following points are to put RTU into "Dehumidification" operation
AO 2 - Space Temperature Setpoint BAS, 70* / in service
AO 11 - Space Temperature BAS, 71* / in service
AO 21 - Space Dehumidification Setpoint BAS, 55% Rh / in service
AO 25 - Space Humidity BAS, 65% Rh / in service
AO 29 - Occupied Offset, 3*/ in service
• Step #3
The following points to verify "Dehumidification" operation
MI 19 - Heat Cool Mode Status / Application Mode Status
AI 1 - Cooling Capacity Status
AI 5 - Reheat Capacity Status (if reheat installed)
AI 11 - Outdoor Air damper Position Status @ Minimum Position
AI 79 - Dehumidification Capacity Status
• Step #4
Reset or Release any points override utilized during Dehumidification operational testing
