Issue:
Is there a schrader under the high pressure cutout?
Resolution:
-
There is NO schrader valve under the high-pressure cutout switch on current production Pueblo chillers. Therefore, the refrigerant will need to be isolated prior to replacing the switch.
-
Chillers with BPHE (CGAM/ACS) require the entire charge to be recovered for replacement of the HPCO.
-
Chillers with shell and tube evaporators (RTHD/RTWD/RTAC) require the charge to be recovered OR the refrigerant can be isolated into the evaporator for replacement of the HPCO.

Chillers
- RTHD - The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve for chillers built with design sequence M0 and later. Refrigerant handling will need to be performed.
- RTHD - The HPCO is mounted on a schrader for chillers built with A0 thru L0.
- RTHC - The HPCO is mounted on a schrader valve.
- RTHB - The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve for chillers built with design sequence A0 thru E0. (U97CXXXXX or earlier). Refrigerant handling will need to be performed.
-
RTHB - The HPCO is mounted on a schrader for chillers built with design sequence F0 and later. (U97DXXXXX or later).

- RTHA - The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve. Refrigerant handling will need to be performed.
- RTAA - The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve. Refrigerant handling will need to be performed.
- RTWA/RTUA - The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve. Refrigerant handling will need to be performed.
- CGW/CCA = The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve. The entire charge needs to be recovered for replacement of the HPCO.
- CGAF = The HPCO is NOT mounted on a schrader valve. The entire charge needs to be recovered for replacement of the HPCO.
