Optional BACnet Communication Interface for Chillers (BCI-C is comprised of a Tracer UC400, BCI-R, or BCI2-C controller) with interface software. It is a non-programmable communications module that allows units to communicate on a BACnet communications network. Whether the chiller uses a Tracer UC400, BCI-R, or BCI2-C controller is dependent upon the vintage of the chiller.
For more information on the BACnet Communication Interface, please refer to the following hub solutions:
- For determining UC400 or BCI-R, refer to ReliaTel BCI-R module as a BCI-C for Chillers | Hub (tranetechnologies.com).
- For binding a BCI-C on CH530 controller, refer to How to bind a BCI-C to a CH530 | Hub (tranetechnologies.com).
- For help on integrating into a building automation system (BAS), refer to BACnet Setup Tool - Setup UC/BCI for Integration into BAS | Hub (tranetechnologies.com).
- For information on the methods that allow a customer to control a chiller with CH530 via the external inputs and while using a BCI-C to monitor the chiller’s status, refer to Using External or Hard wire Set Points with BACnet | Hub (tranetechnologies.com).
