Issue:
Can I use LonTalk and 1U2 Options Module?
Resolution:
RTAA 70-125, RTWA 70-125, RTUA 70-125 TON Chillers:
- Both the 1U2 and LCI-C board are not needed to make ice; one or the other must be chosen.
- On RTAA, the LCI-C board replaces the 1U2 CSR module and it is not possible to have both LCI-C and ice machine enable/disable via contacts.
- Those functions are mutually exclusive (meaning: if the LCI-C board is present, ice can be made; however it cannot initiate ice via contacts. Ice can only be initiated via the LCI-C communications.) To initiate Ice via contacts, the 1U2 must be present (the 1U2 looks for a contact closure between TB1-1 and TB1-2.
To initiate ice making through LCI-C you will want to write nviMode to 11 decimal.
Whether ice making is enabled through LCI-C or the contact closure, you will need to access the Operator Settings Menu on the chiller control panel and scroll through until Ice Machine Control item is reached. Press the + or - key to enable and then press enter.
