Issue:
Do we offer a refrigerant other than R-22 in this chiller?
Resolution:
R-22 is the only available refrigerant available in these products from Pueblo. No design specials are offered for a drop-in R-407c refrigerant charge.
Using R-407c in current screw and scroll products manufactured in Pueblo would result in the chiller not complying with ASHRAE 90.1 minimum efficiency requirements. Pueblo has also not done any testing in any of the chiller they manufacturer with R407c.
Long-term viability of HCFC-22 in new equipment offers further information on the long-term viability of R-22.
The CGAF manufactured in Clarksville, TN did offer a R-407c drop-in as a design special. Please see CGAF Air-Cooled Chiller With R407C for more information.
