Issue:
Is this Modbus compatible?
Resolution:
Pueblo chillers with a CH530, UCP2 or UCM controller are not capable of interfacing directly with Modbus, except via hardwire points. The chillers are able to interface directly with Lontalk, hardwire points, and Tracer Summit. Chillers with a CH530 controller can also interface directly with BACnet MS/TP. Once points are passed to Tracer Summit, the Summit package can be capable of communicating with Modbus.
For chillers with CH530 controls, one solution would be to communicate Lontalk to a "Babel Buster" gateway.

The new RTAE Stealth chiller and the RTHD Optimus chiller both have a UC800 controller. This controller has the ability to communicate Lontalk, BACnet MS/TP and ModBus RTU protocols.
