Issue:
How does a thermal dispersion flow switch prove flow?
Resolution:
The IFM efector flow switch is comprised of a heated transistor (HT) and a reference transistor (RT). The IFM efector measures the difference between the HT and the RT to determine if there is flow.
With no flow, the HT transistor sensing element has a higher temperature. If temperature is similar there is flow, large difference equals no flow.
Notes:
The IFM efector flow switch is a flow proving device and not a flow measuring device.
