Issue:

Failure to Transition or Starter Transition

Resolution:

RTAA, RTWA, RTUA Chillers:

Circuit B - Check AUX3 contact on the 1K6 Run contactor.

Circuit B - Checking wiring between the 1K6 AUX3 contact and the 1U5 (Compressor B) module input at J3-3,4 (Transition Complete Input).

Circuit B - Check ALL 1K6 AUX contacts. Check for correct mechanical operation, no binding etc.,..

Circuit B - Check 1K6 contactor for proper operation.

Circuit A - Check AUX3 contact on the 1K2 Run contactor.

Circuit A - Checking wiring between the 1K2 AUX3 contact and the 1U4 (Compressor A) module input at J3-3,4 (Transition Complete Input).

Circuit A - Check ALL 1K2 AUX contacts. Check for correct mechanical operation, no binding etc.,..

Circuit A - Check 1K2 contactor for proper operation.

RTAA 130-400 TON Chillers ONLY.

• Verify the P5 menu item 55 is set correctly. If there is a Y-delta starter, item 55 needs to be set to enable. If the the starter is a X-line starter, then item 55 needs to be disabled.

RTAA 70-125, RTUA 70-125, RTWA 70-125 TON chillers ONLY.

• Verify in the Service Settings sub-menu that Reduced Inrush Starting is set to enable for Y-delta start. If the starter is a X-line start, then Reduced Inrush Starting is set to disable.
