Issue:
What is the ice termination setpoint?
Resolution:
The Front Panel Ice Termination Setpoint is the return ice temperature from the ice bank (evaporator entering water temperature).
Front Panel Ice Termination Setpoint can be adjusted from 20°F to 31°F in 1°F increments.
When in the Ice Building mode, and the evaporator entering water temperature drops below the ice termination setpoint, the chiller terminates the Ice Building mode and changes to the Ice Building Complete Mode.
Adequate glycol protection is required to protect the chiller at these temperatures. Use a refractometer to measure the glycol concentration. Use this value to set the Low Evap Refrigerant Temperature Cutout and the Low Leaving Water Temperature Cutout based on the values with the Installation Operation Maintenance (IOM) manual.
Reference the appropriate IOM for more details regarding Ice Making.
