Benshaw Solid State Starter Conversion
Resolution:
Solid State Starter Conversion bulletin from other types of Solid State Starters (SSS) or Mechanical Starters to Benshaw RediStart Solid State Starter.
- Conversion Bulletin: RLC-SVN005A-EN
- Programming Guide: RLC-SVP001A-EN
- Benshaw SSS Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: RTHD-SVD02A-EN...originally written for MX starters...however most of the information is relevant for MX2 type starters. )
Conversion Tip:
- Recommend providing an external 120VAC to power up the Logic Module for programming, prior to the application of 3-phase power.
-
It is recommended that the new starter/logic board be Reset prior to programming.
- Press and hold; PARAM and ENTER on power up to reset the parameters to default values.
- Hold PARAM and ENTER buttons until "d f l t" is flashing on the LED display.
- NOTE: PARAM and ENTER have to be pressed and held prior to power being applied!
Notes:
- MX1 and MX2 information is listed in the bulletin.
- November 2011 to present...ONLY MX2 starters are shipped for the conversion.
- See last section of the conversion bulletin for reference on required KIT for converting MX1 Logic Module Starter to MX2 Logic Module Starter. (DO NOT order MX2 Logic Module directly...it will not work. You need to order the KIT listed in the bulletin.)
- If a conversion of logic module has been performed...see appropriate diagrams in conversion bulletin for MX2 wiring.
(Note: This document and attachments were written for RTH Screw Chillers; however CentraVac Chillers can be converted to Benshaw SSS...contact Technical Support for this discussion.)
