Issue:
What is the correct IFM flow switch setpoint
Resolution:
RTAC and RTAE Chillers Chillers:
There are 5 different IFM flow switches used for RTAC Chillers. Four flow switches are used for water applications and one flow switch (15 cm/sec) for all glycol concentrations.
The table below can help determine which is the correct flow switch setting. It will be helpful to know the following
- Chiller Capacity
- Standard or High Efficiency (digit 12 of the chiller model number)
- Evaporator connection pipe size
Table for RTAE IFM flow switch selection
RTAF Chiller:
Glycol:
- 15 cm/sec flow switch for all gylcol applications
Water (based on TOPSS selection):
- 35 cm/sec flow switch
- 45 cm/sec flow switch
- 60 cm/sec flow switch
Correct flow switch on existing chiller can be verified using Webcats. If application changes from original submittal, a new selection should be ran using TOPPS. Under the General Header, the correct flow switch setpoint could be identified.
RTWD Chillers:
Glycol:
- 15 cm/sec flow switch
Water:
- 35 cm/sec flow switch
CGAM Chillers:
Water:
- 60 cm/sec.
Glycol (based on TOPSS selection):
- 15 cm/sec flow switch
- 25 cm/sec flow switch
- 35 cm/sec flow switch
- 45 cm/sec flow switch
- 60 cm/sec flow switch
ACSA and ACRA/B Chillers:
- All selections are specific to parameters selected within TOPSS. Refer to submittal for proper IFM flow switch setpoint.
Notes:
Refer to IFM Efector Flow Switch Programming for information about programming the IFM Flow Switch. Submittal will have flow switch setpoint identified for application chiller was selected for. If application changes, TOPPS program should be utilized by salesperson to identify flow switch setpoint for new application
